UMLAC Postgraduate Programs

Medical Specialist in Integrative Ayurveda

Contemporary medicine has achieved extraordinary precision in diagnosis, intervention and disease management. At the same time, prevention, mind-body health, individualised care and the reading of physiological patterns require a complementary formation framework.
Physician in hospital uniform with stethoscope. Postgraduate program in Integrative Ayurveda for licensed medical professionals.
Two clinical literatures meet in one practitioner: the diagnostic precision of modern medicine and the Ayurvedic reading of the patient, held to the same standard of seriousness.

This program offers advanced formation for professionals who want to integrate the principles of Ayurveda with modern medicine and contemporary research on a scientific basis.

The program approaches Ayurveda as an integrative science dedicated to regulation, prevention and natural therapeutics that support the organism’s self-regulating mechanisms, complementing conventional clinical approaches with a systemic and integrative view.

This approach, also known as Maharishi Ayurveda, is inspired by the vision of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who interpreted Vedic literature as a science of consciousness. From this perspective, enlivening the organism’s self-regulating intelligence expresses the action of the field of consciousness: the unified field of natural law that organises and sustains processes of balance, coherence and wellbeing.

Who Is This Program For?

The Medical Specialist in Integrative Ayurveda is designed for physicians who wish to broaden their clinical practice through rigorous formation in Integrative Ayurveda, prevention, mind-body physiology, Ayurvedic assessment, nervous-system regulation, digestive health, lifestyle, natural therapeutics and consciousness-based approaches.

Graduate Competencies: What the Student Masters by the End of the Program

By the end of the program, the student will be prepared to:

  • Understand the fundamental principles of Integrative Ayurveda and their relationship with physiology, prevention, mind-body balance and the promotion of integral health.

  • Evaluate the patient’s state of balance through clinical history, observation, foundations of pulse assessment and Ayurvedic criteria applied to professional practice.
